Training

Scuba diving offers so many opportunities and each step of the journey can be supported by training. We have regular pool sessions (3rd Tuesday of each month) at Lonsdale Pool in Derby which is open to all members free of charge.  Here you can practice new skills, try out new kit or just get back in the water in a controlled environment after a break.

Once you have mastered your skills in the relative warm waters of the pool you will be ready to take the next step into sheltered diving in the Quarry at Stoney Cove. www.stoneycove.com

For some the Stoney Cove is the first experience of open water diving. There are lots of underwater features to be explored from boats, aircraft, buses, helicopters, buildings and even the Nessie! Depths from 6 meters to 36m there is a lot of scope for depth progression and , with little or no current, your skills can be mastered and qualifications achieved.

EMSUB also takes training to the next level and whenever the opportunity presents we train on tour. In St Abbs harbour, between dives we practice rescue skills, basic first aid and oxygen administration.

It is hoped that we will never need these skills however, practice builds confidence to be  better and safer diver.
